who we are
Founder
Janessa Hershman, MS LPC
Janessa Hershman is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and the founder of The EMDR Group. Her credentials reflect a deep specialization in the work she cares most about: she's a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP-II), and a National Certified Counselor (NCC), with a Master of Science from Nova Southeastern University. Practicing in Langhorne, PA, she has built her career around helping people navigate the tangled intersection of trauma, addiction, and the complicated relationships that so often accompany them.
What sets Janessa apart is her range and her realness. She draws on EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), CBT, brainspotting, and polyvagal-informed approaches, tailoring the work to each person rather than forcing anyone into a single method. Above all, she offers a space to be honest—no judgment, no pretense—where clients can break old patterns, build resilience, and create lasting change. Whether someone is deep in recovery, questioning it, or just beginning to sense that something needs to shift, Janessa meets them exactly where they are.
EMDR TherapistMatt Dietz, MS
Matt Dietz is a therapist at The EMDR Group with a particular passion for helping couples reconnect. He understands that relationships often carry the weight of old wounds—patterns of conflict, disconnection, and mistrust that can be difficult to break on your own. Using EMDR alongside his training in couples work, Matt helps partners understand not just what they're fighting about, but what's driving the friction beneath the surface. His approach is warm, grounded, and free of judgment, creating a space where both people can feel heard.
Whether a couple is navigating a specific rupture or simply trying to find their way back to each other, Matt meets them with patience and genuine care. He believes that the same nervous system that learns to brace for conflict can also learn to soften, trust, and rebuild—and he's committed to helping couples get there, one honest conversation at a time.
EMDR TherapistRobert Weber
Robert Weber brings a rare and hard-earned perspective to his work at The EMDR Group. Before becoming a therapist, he served as a police officer, giving him firsthand knowledge of the pressures, trauma, and cumulative toll that come with life on the front lines. That background makes him especially attuned to the experiences of first responders—the police officers, firefighters, paramedics, and dispatchers who carry what they've seen long after their shift ends.
Robert uses EMDR to help first responders process the critical incidents and chronic stress that traditional talk therapy doesn't always reach. He gets the culture, the reluctance to ask for help, and the toughness that can make it hard to admit you're struggling—and he offers a space where none of that has to be explained. For those who spend their careers protecting others, Robert provides a place to finally set down some of the weight.
